What to Say

What To Say

Standing in front of a class,
talking.
What everyone shies away from.

I, for one,
don’t know what to do.
Am I supposed to speak
IN AN OVERLY LOUD VOICE?
or speak softly,
like a mouse
but ten times quieter
Or do I talk in an accent,
a mix between british and Indian?

Am I supposed to walk around,
back and forth,
like a monkey on repeat?
Or do I wave my hands everywhere,
trying to be a worm?

Do I take the place of the character,
or read in the rhythm its written in?
Do I stop when the sentence stops,
and let another person continue?
Questions
and more questions
are left unanswered.

No wonder,
nobody volunteers to talk
in front of the class.

  1. I can totally relate to this poem! I hate presenting in front of the class and I never know what to do! Good job and the picture you chose is really funny :)

  2. I like how everyone could relate to this since everyone has stood in front of the class to talk. It's a strong poem since people can understand this.
