Why Love is Like Flavor

As you start chewing gum ,
you feel the nice sweet taste of the gum.
As you continue chewing,
you feel more of that sweetness fill your mouth and even tickle your tongue.
But when that flavor goes away,
You're like, “That was the best taste ever.”
And you think about how you miss the flavor of the gum like
a girlfriend you have broken up with.
You think about that sweet flavor of the gum,
which ends you putting another piece of gum in your mouth.
As you start chewing that gum once again,
you feel as if
you found another decent match.
The flavor tickles your tongue again.
You fall in love with the flavor as your tongue goes on a second date with the flavor,
which reminds you of the last stick of gum you just had.
You’re once again like, “That was the best thing I tasted in my life”.
The flavor once dies off again,
giving you that “dumped” feeling again.
You then check the box to see if any is left.
As you check,
the gum,
ran out.
Your poem was really cool. I like the repetition that you used
ReplyDeleteI really like how the poem is deeper than just the flavor of gum ,you took it to a whole other level.
ReplyDeleteWow it is the most amazing poem I've seen by far. I really like how you took it to another level
ReplyDeleteI really like your use of sensory detail, "tickles your tongue."
